Panjabi or Punjabi is an Indo-Aryan language. It is the native language of the Panjabi people who inhabit the historical Punjab region. Punjabi is the fourth-most spoken language in the United Kingdom and fifth-most spoken native language (after English, French, Mandarin and Cantonese) in Canada. The Punjabi language is written in the Shahmukhi and Gurmukhi scripts.
